Terms of Service

Welcome to AhaDaily. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the AhaDaily mobile application ("App") and website (ahadaily.app), operated by Vic Yu ("we," "our," or "us"). By using AhaDaily, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. About AhaDaily

AhaDaily is a social discovery app that lets you photograph everyday objects and receive AI-generated quizzes and fun facts. You build your collection of discoveries, level up as you explore, and share them with a community of curious minds.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use AhaDaily. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with your parent or guardian.

3. Your Account

• You sign in using Apple or Google OAuth. We do not handle passwords.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• One account per person. Do not share your account with others.
• You can delete your account at any time (Settings → Account → Delete Account).

4. Your Content

Ownership: You retain ownership of all photos you upload to AhaDaily.

License: By uploading a photo, you grant AhaDaily a limited, non-exclusive license to process your photo for the purpose of generating quiz content. This includes sending the photo to our AI service provider (Google Gemini) for analysis.

Restrictions: You agree not to upload content that is:

• Illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
• Infringing on the intellectual property rights of others
• Sexually explicit or exploitative
• Designed to harm or exploit minors

5. Publishing and Social Features

• You may publish your discoveries to the public feed, where they become visible to all AhaDaily users
• Published posts display your display name, avatar, and optionally an approximate location (city-level)
• You can unpublish or delete your posts at any time
• You may follow other users and receive notifications about their new posts
• Other users can answer the quizzes on your published posts

6. Content Moderation

• Published content is subject to automated content review before appearing on the feed
• Users may report inappropriate content via the post's menu (…) and block other users by tapping their avatar
• Content that receives multiple reports may be automatically hidden pending review
• We act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours by removing the reported content and, where appropriate, ejecting the user who posted it
• We maintain zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Repeat offenders will have their accounts permanently terminated
• We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms without prior notice

7. Sharing

• You can share quizzes via image cards or web links
• Shared web links are publicly accessible and time-limited
• Shared content includes the quiz question, options, photo, and reveal — but not your personal information

8. AI-Generated Content

• AI-generated content is provided for entertainment and educational purposes only
• It does not constitute professional, medical, legal, financial, or any other form of expert advice
• AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, errors, or outdated information
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content
• You may report inappropriate or inaccurate AI content through the feedback mechanism in the App

9. Aha Points and In-App Purchases

• AhaDaily uses a consumable in-app currency called Aha Points to generate AI quizzes (each quiz consumes a fixed amount of Points)
• New users receive a starting balance of Aha Points and additional free daily photo allowances
• The new-user welcome bonus is limited to one grant per device. We reserve the right to withhold or adjust Aha Points for accounts that abuse multiple sign-ups or otherwise attempt to farm the welcome bonus
• Points can also be earned through daily challenges, streaks, and referrals
• Additional Aha Points bundles can be purchased through Apple App Store ("In-App Purchases")
• All payments are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to validate receipts. We never see or store your payment card information
• Aha Points are non-transferable, non-refundable (except where required by law), and have no real-world monetary value. They cannot be exchanged for cash, goods, or services outside of the App
• Refunds for In-App Purchases are handled directly by Apple according to their App Store Terms
• Aha Points bundle sizes and prices may be adjusted over time. Changes will apply to future purchases only
• If you delete your account, any unused Aha Points are forfeited

10. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use AhaDaily for any illegal purpose
• Upload illegal, harmful, or infringing content
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or hack the App
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the App
• Circumvent security measures, rate limits, or access controls
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Interfere with the normal operation of the App

11. Intellectual Property

The AhaDaily brand, logo, user interface design, and source code are the intellectual property of Vic Yu. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without written permission.

AI-generated quiz content is not claimed as copyrighted work by AhaDaily.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

AhaDaily is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Accuracy or reliability of AI-generated content
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vic Yu shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of AhaDaily.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

14. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:

• Your access to the App will be revoked
• Unused Aha Points will be forfeited
• We may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through the App.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the courts in Taiwan.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the App and update the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of AhaDaily after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
